Goosander

This is just a short post about when I went to Snowdonia to watch a bit of water fowl activity.
I saw a beautiful female Goosander.
And a bird that I carn't exactly work out what it is... Do any of you bloggers have any ideas what it is?
I also really like this picture we took of all the gulls on the sunken rowing boats.

  1. Findlay, that odd duck looks like the ones here when a mallard and a white barnyard type duck crossbreed. The young ones have plumage from both parents.
    I like your goosander, they are called mergansers here in North America, I took pictures of one the other day myself.

  3. You know....ducks and geese crossbreed. You may have one of those in the pics. I had something similiar happen to me awhile back. I was trying ID and had to speak with a birder....and that's when I learned about that dealio:) Very interesting. Lovely sunny pics!
