At first I was going to say starlings but they're way to big and started to look closely at the image and noticed the bloke on the right is wearing a harness, so climbing was involved, then I noticed them nostrils on the bills so I'm going with a corvid and torn between crow and rook so....rook
ReplyDeleteYou got me!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteI can'nt tell you what bird these are. But Your post is perfect for WBW!
ReplyDeleteGreat challenge Findlay.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess...Carrion Crow...or maybe Jackdaw. (Am I allowed two goes?)...[;o)
Are they Jackdaws ?
ReplyDeleteAm gonna guess at Carrion Crow ?
ReplyDeleteBuzzard ?
ReplyDeletewell I wouldn't have a clue Findlay but I enjoyed coming to see them
ReplyDeleteI always go for the first thing that comes to mind Findlay... so my guess is Starlings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little birds - but I certainly couldn't tell what they are when you live in a different country and even a different hemisphere!
ReplyDeleteJackdaw?
ReplyDeleteOh wow, now that is a good question. They are cute babies!
ReplyDeleteHi Findlay...I must say I will not try and venture
ReplyDeletea guess : ) !!

I have no idea, but they sure are cute!
ReplyDeleteThey're cute whatever they are.
ReplyDeleteDepending where you are, for Europe, I would guess blackbirds or starlings although they look too big for those. I would guess at something larger, like a crow.
ReplyDeleteHi Findlay, I wondered about Starling chicks but not sure if these are too big.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious, I had always understood chicks would be abandoned by their mother if they were handled but I assume if they are being ringed this is not now believed to be the case?
Well done on capturing the woodpeckers on video on your last post and on completing your Sats, I hope you get great results...I suspect you will :-)
I have no idea. Crows?
ReplyDeleteI won't hazard a guess as to ID, but they are very young nestlings whose parents are rather large.
ReplyDelete...I would never have guessed the Jackdaw. Never heard of them.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cut and I love Jackdaws!
ReplyDeleteWarm greetings from Holland,
Anna :))
