North Wales Wildlife

My first week at Wales went rather smoothly, I saw plenty of butterflies, moths (especially) and birds. The reason I put moths down as especially is because I caught a lot, due to me taking my moth trap; here is a few listed species (not all of them) : Garden Tiger, Yellow Tail, Lesser Broad Bordered Under wing, Broad Bordered Under Wing, Large Emerald, Magpie, Poplar Hawk moth and Blood Vein; they're just a few.

And it was great to see a lesser spotted Keith again.

    Nice trip for you Findlay. Good garden for ringing too - get some nets up. Not so sure about the hairy caterpiller.

    Looks like you're having a great time in Wales Findlay, with lots of wildlife to see and photograph!

    You do know that a Lesser Spotted Keith is a mega rare species, don't you? I hope you put a ring on it and logged seeing it to all the relevant recorders?...[;o)

    KEITH!!! the best spotting of all! :D

    the snapping turtles might travel down the creek that runs along our property boundary. when we get heavy rains, they might get caught up in the current and travel along the stream from nearby farm ponds.

    Isn't it great when you have a wonderful Grandma like yours, who also lives where you can add another dimension to your hobby!! I was lucky enough, when I was your age, to have a lovely Grandma too. Her back garden ended at a busy railway line. I was a train spotter at that time, and I loved visits to her!

    HI Findlay... That is an amazing garden you Grandma's friend has , but not my kind of garden, I like a more natural one with lots if flowers ; )
    Wonderful set of photo's of so many different things!!
    Love that Comma shot, we have one called the Question Mark!!
    A very rare spices the "Lesser Spotted Keith", I think you did well there... : )
